Easy Individual Gourmet Calzones

This is the first in a series of 5 Minute Meal recipes designed to be delicious, easy and quick to prepare.  These incredible calzones are are treat any day of the week, but they are guaranteed crowd pleaser at the end of a busy work day.

Difficulty: Easy * Preparation Time: 5 Min * Cook Time: 30-35 Min * Makes: 4

1 Sheet Pre-Made Puff Pastry (often available near the canned biscuits and crescents)

1/2 Cup Marina Sauce

1/2 – 2/3 Cup Mozzarella Cheese (you can also use any mix of Italian cheeses)

1 Egg (for egg wash)

If the pastry sheet does not measure approximately 16×11, use a lightly floured rolling pin to roll the dough to the desired size, being careful not to make the dough too thin.

Cut the dough into quarters.  Line a greased muffin tin with the dough, forming a bowl and allowing the edges to overhang.

Fill the dough with 2 tablespoons marina sauce and a generous amount of cheese.  Fold a corner of the dough into the center and brush the outside with egg wash. Repeat with all four corners. Brush the entire calzone top with a generous egg wash.

Bake in a 350 oven for 20-25 minutes or until the tops of the pastry are lightly browned.

Note: An egg wash is made by combining a beaten egg with a tablespoon of water.

The kids loved these and they were so easy to make! I also added mushrooms and hamburger meat to some of them!
