Take a trip down the rabbit hole and into this spectacular Alice in Wonderland themed birthday party. The rich details and creative design are sure to spark great ideas for your own party with the Mad Hatter.
A self-professed “Alice addict,” Marie Dannettelle, owner of Sweets Indeed, was thrilled when she was requested to design an Alice in Wonderland themed “sweets and treats” buffet for the birthday party of a client’s little girl. Dannettelle was more than up to the task. Her company creates custom tailored parties designed to create just the right atmosphere for guests to enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience. Since no party is perfect without great food, Sweets Indeed assures its clients that they work with the “top confectioners, chocolatiers, and pastry chefs to bring you gourmet, sophisticated, quality products and signature style.”
To create this party, Dannettelle started with one of their custom table tutu’s. To top it off, and add that special touch, they added had a pinafore made to look like Alice’s dress. You can find this custom tabletop are available for sale at their Etsy Shop. Lanterns in special party theme colors of pink, blue, and purple hang above the table. Two ornate velvet chairs flank the table and add that magical touch.
No ordinary cake or cookie stand would work for this party. So, Marie made special tea cup cake stands to display all of those delicious treats. You can recreate this look at home with any white cups and plates found at dollar stores, thrift shops, or big box stores. Marie recommends using E-6000 glue to adhere the pieces together. Instead of painting the already glazed cups and saucers, she decided to use stickers, ribbons, and various scrapbook adornments in coordinated colors to make the Alice in Wonderland cake stands more decorative.
Blue and green Mad Hatter Marshmallow pops from The Marshmallow Studio make the perfect addition to the custom made desert stands.
Every treat adorning the tablescape reflected the unique theme and color palate of the party. The cake, cookies, and cupcakes were provided by Vanilla Bake Shop who adorned their mini cupcakes with little animals from the story. They also designed French macaroons with special “painted red roses”.
We think the moss covered mushroom is a perfect whimsical touch that also grounds the design in a natural element.
